THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MICROSCOPE FOR THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK

The world’s strongest microscopes were recently launched at the Center for Electron Nanoscopy at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU CEN) based on a donation from A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til Almene Formaal, writes the news portal I dag.dk.

“It is unique that an ambitious centre can be built and equipped with the absolutely most outstanding within electron microscopy all at once. The experimental opportunities for Danish research in materials and nanotechnology will in this way be lifted into world-class. This will have great impact on nanoresearch in the entire world," says rector Lars Pallesen from DTU.

One of the altogether seven new microscopes is almost four metres tall a socalled Environmental Transmission Elctron Microscope which was developed by the world leading microscope supplier FEI Company in collaboration with DTU. The microscope is the strongest of its kind in the world.
